The Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) is a specialized designation for developers, property managers, asset managers and others working in the affordable housing industry through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. To become an HCCP, you must pass the HCCP Exam and have a minimum of two years of LIHTC experience.

By completing all HCCP requirements, you are eligible to apply for the HCCP designation.

HCCP Application Instructions

  1. First create a login to if you do not have one. Your NAHB PIN and Education ID are typically the same. If you are not a NAHB member, please use your Education ID to create your login. If you need assistance, call the NAHB Professional Designation Help Line at 800-368-5242 x8154.
  2. If you meet all requirements, you can pay the HCCP Graduation Application Fee, which includes the HCCP graduation kit with your HCCP plaque and lapel pin.
  3. When you add your product to your cart, you acknowledge that you have met all requirements. You can review and complete the application before finalizing the billing and payment information or return to the application later if you can't fill it out all at one time.
  4. After completing the HCCP application, click the Submit button. This will prompt you to fill out the billing information and finalize the payment. The application will not be officially submitted until you have finished the checkout process and paid the application fee. 

Note: Your information will be verified by NAHB Education within five business days. If your application is incomplete or you fail to qualify, NAHB Education will notify you and refund your fee.
