The PREP is the required first step in the process of becoming a Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR). Candidates do not pass or fail the PREP. Results determine the course of study for CGR candidates.
The 150 question online assessment measures a candidate’s knowledge in five core areas of remodeling business management:
• Marketing and Advertising
• Business Management
• Estimating
• Contracts, Liability and Risk Management
• Project Management
Prior to purchase, please note the following important items:
-The assessment cannot be taken on a tablet or mobile device.
-The assessment is housed in NAHB's Learning Management System (LMS). If you do not take the assessment right after you purchase it, you can go back to "My Purchases" under the "Your Membership" tab on NAHB.org to access the link to the assessment in the LMS.
-This is a timed, three hour assessment.
-Once you start the assessment, you will have to complete it.
-You cannot save your answers and go back to answer them after the three hour time frame is up.
-You are only allowed to take the assessment one time.
-You have one year after purchase to access the assessment.
-Your results will be emailed to you within 48 hours.
-Some questions in this assessment refer to a reference document which can be accessed by clicking on the hyperlink within the question.
