HPBBP 3: Site and Lot Design and Development

Site and Lot Design and Development The goal of design and development for both a green site and the lot is to minimize the impact on the environment. Both NGBS chapters have practices that focus efforts on proper planning followed by implementation. It may seem, in some cases, that points are awarded multiple times for the same practices but, in actuality, they are awarded first for the planning and then for the construction. This module covers strategies and tactics for both site and lot development with emphasis on four key areas: site and lot selection, project team, mission statement and goals, site and lot design, and site and lot development and construction. By completing this module, you will be able to:
  • Explain how the ICC/ASHRAE 700-2015 National Green Building Standard™ incorporates site and lot design and development.
  • Describe the considerations of site and lot selection and assessment.
  • Identify the key components of a site and lot design and development project.
  • List mandatory and several innovative tactics for site and lot development and construction.
