Spokesperson Training Part II: Presentation Skills

Presentations Skills, part two of this two-part spokesperson training series, provides approaches to organizing and delivering a successful speech or presentation to various audiences.

As a result of this class you will learn:
  •Types of presentations such as persuasive, instructional, information and decision-making and how to determine the goal of your presentation
  •Audience analysis in order to develop an appealing message that uses appropriate language and references
  •How to use visual aids effectively to maintain the audience’s attention
  •Body language, such as eye contact, gestures and postures, that is comfortable for the speaker and compelling for the audience
  •Techniques for a panel presentation, answering audience questions and responding to multiple points of view
  •Best practices for rehearsing and arranging for any requirements in advance

Bring an outline or previous speech to present to the group for reactions and suggestions. Presentations will be recorded and reviewed by instructors who will provide individual coaching.

This Course Qualifies For:
  •6.0 CE for AIBD
  •6 CE for all NAHB Designations except HCCP
