The Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation emphasizes business and product management skills as the key to a successful remodeling operation. It helps you run your business more efficiently by teaching job cost procedures, accounting principles and basic contract law, in addition to design, estimating and scheduling.

After earning five years of remodeling experience, taking the Professional Remodeler Experience Profile (PREP), completing the required CGR classes and meeting all CGR requirements, you are eligible to apply for the Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation.

CGR Application Instructions

1. Before starting the CGR application process, you'll need to create a login to nahb.org if you do not have one. Your NAHB PIN and Education ID are typically the same. If you are not a NAHB member, please use your Education ID to create your login. If you need assistance, call the NAHB Professional Designation Help Line at 800-368-5242 x8154.
2. You must choose either Premium or Standard. The Premium option includes your CGR plaque, your CGR lapel pin and other valuable designation resources. The Standard option includes a downloadable CGR certificate and access to various online designation resources to help you market and promote your designation.
3. When you add your application to the shopping cart, you acknowledge that you have met all requirements to earn your CGR. You will be able to review and complete the application or return to the application later if you can't fill it out all at one time before finalizing the billing and payment information.
4. After completing the CGR application, click the Submit button. This will prompt you to fill out the billing information and finalize the payment. The application will not be officially submitted until you have finished the checkout process and paid the application fee.
