IBS Communities

The IBS Communities represent the interest of niche groups within the overall residential construction industry. Many of these niche groups are represented by a ‘Central,’ while others are represented by lounges or other spaces at the Show.

Centrals are about business and enjoyment, all within a group of professionals from a similar niche of the building industry. Centrals provide opportunities to share knowledge, experiences and network with peers within the same segment of the industry. Thousands of your potential customers go to the Centrals for free education, peer-to-peer networking, refreshments and receptions.

55+ Housing Central
The 55+ Housing Central is the core of activity for Show attendees who are actively involved in developing communities for the nation’s boomer (55+) marketplace. At the 2017 Show, traffic to this Central increased 20% over the previous year, with 1,700 visitors to the space. These builders are interested in education, advocacy and networking, as well as Universal Design products and issues surrounding lifestyle design and mobility. The 55+ Housing Central offers the opportunity for high visibility and deep engagement with this influential industry segment. Sales Central
Sales Central is the most popular Central at IBS, and the place where custom builders, developers and remodelers come together with sales managers, marketing directors, sales and marketing consultants, real estate agents, and others in the marketing business. These like-minded professionals can focus on the questions, issues, strategies and trends unique to residential sales and marketing with industry peers. Regardless of your level of experience in the building business, you can always find fresh perspectives in Sales Central. The Central is open to all registered IBS attendees interested in talking about sales and marketing issues. At the 2017 IBS, 2,540 visitors attended Sales Central!

Multifamily Central


The Design Studio
The Design Studio offers an amazing opportunity to engage with the powerful design niche within the home building industry - the specifiers. As a sponsor of one of the most popular Communities at the Show, with over 2,250 visitors in 2017, your company will capture crucial mind share with residential design professionals. You’ll engage the right audience - architects, designers, interior designers, design/build firms, custom builders and other professionals that specify products. They are all found in the Design Studio, the hub for those whose common goal is outstanding design. The Design Trends IBS education has always been among the most popular, we anticipate more than 4,000 education participants in 2018. The Design Studio provides a place for these participants to network, participate in interactive activities, recharge and refresh.

Design Studio


Custom Building Central
Year after year, single family custom builders are the largest group of attendees at the IBS, with nearly 8,000 in attendance. Custom Building Central is designed for high-end custom builders and architects who cater to this discerning market. This is the place for almost 2,000 Central attendees to meet, attend workshops and gain perspective from experts on the multitude of details that come with building custom homes and the unique challenges that brings. This centrally located lounge features three days of education, networking and special events, and has seen an increase of 74% in unique visitors over the past four years.
