Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) Instructor Application

The Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) designation is the fourth and most prestigious designation given by the Institute of Residential Marketing. The MIRM is the top-level achievement for professionals in new home marketing.

NAHB is accepting applications for the following courses for the CMP/MIRM designation: Principles of Residential Marketing: Research and Analysis and Principles of Residential Marketing: Strategy and Implementation.

To become an NAHB-approved instructor for either or both course(s), you must complete this application and meet all requirements.

Maintenance Requirements

To maintain your approved instructor status to teach, you must do the following:

  1. Maintain any active NAHB designation(s) relevant to the course(s) you are approved to teach. 
  2. Sign and return the NAHB Instructor Guidelines annually.
  3. Teach one class every three years. If you fail to teach the minimum number of classes to maintain your approved status, you may apply for an extension of your approved status.
  4. Maintain a 4.5 or greater participant evaluation rating on a 5-point scale. Evaluation scores are reviewed quarterly based on a rolling average over a three-year period for both individual courses and overall instructor rating. If you fail to meet the required evaluation scores, you will be referred to the respective oversight committee for review and may be subject to disciplinary actions, up to and including removal of your approved status. These actions may be taken on an individual course basis or as an overall action based upon the committee's recommendation after the committee has completed its review.
